The Australian Pinot Noir Challenge 2021 & 2022

The Australian Pinot Noir Challenge has emerged as Australia’s benchmark competition for judging the best of Australia’s pinot noir wines from all wine-producing states and their pinot noir growing regions.

Totem Marketing managed social media and engaged with wine and lifestyle media. Press releases were distributed to targeted media with information about the competition, judging process, presentation dinner event and the winners of each region as well as the Best Pinot Noir Wine in Australia.

The communications achieved high engagement and both presentation events sold out within days of tickets going live. The media reach in 2022 included Wine Business Monthly, The Australian Financial Review, Halliday Wine Companion and many more, coming to a combined reach of more than 1,155,000. In 2021, the reach was in excess of 605,000, although smaller than 2022, the media hits were more varied – from radio to podcast, daily newspapers and magazines, such as 3AW, Radio ABC Tasmania, Drink Adventures and Winetitles Media.

Totem Marketing also provided support and advice regarding the terms & conditions of the show, the event strategy and content direction. The social media component included Instagram, Facebook and social media advertising, as well as image and video production and community engagement
